Hi my dads 2008 450 head pipe turns red. After we go riding fro about an hr or 2 it like burning hot red. He has a abla slip and velocity intake.

Did you rejet for the exhaust and intake? The stock header turning red at night is fairly common. If you can see it during the day, or it's getting red all the way back to the silencer, it's too hot. This is more than likely an indication of a lean condition.

it is normal with incorrect jetting. it means the bike is lean.

turn your fuel screw out a turn if that doesnt fix it then change your pilot to a 48 or 52. its ok with stock pipe but if you put a slip on you should up your pilot jet anyway. so you dont cook the motor. your main should be up in the hight 160s lower 170s depending on your elevation and airbox.

it is only at night but everything is jetted and runs perfect

when your full throttle and let off does it pop at all.
