I could possibly build one, but don't have an FCR here for testing... Want to lend me yours?

I sure would if I wasn't getting ready to use it. I can take dimensional pictures if ud like with calipers and such. I'm an engineer and am familiar with the dimensions you would need.

Just received my adapter from ZR. Excellent part. Well machined, no burrs, imperfections, or scuffs. Highly recommend if wanting to do the upgrade.

bump for ZR...
Come on people, if you had asked him to make them, then cut loose with the cash and buy them.
He dosen't make alot of money doing these things, but does have a substantial out of pocket cost getting each order made.
so if you asked for it, then buy it now.

and before anyone ask's...
"does a 450r carb do any good on my 400ex ?"
or
"how much power do I gain ?"...
or
anything else reguarding this mod,...

go read the threads in the stickies at the top of the 400ex forum.
All of your questions reguarding,
How to install,...
and What you will gain,...
have been throughly covered.

I just received my adapter today, and the quality is superb just as ZR claims. I haven't installed it yet as I am waiting on my new cam and valve springs to get here, but it looks to be a nice piece. The price is also reasonable for someone who is not mass producing the product. THANKS.

I got mine from ZR about 2 years ago, (i think), the absolute best thing you can do for a 400ex is the 450R carb / ZR adaptor! He is extremely knowledgible about the swap! Spend the money and do it right with the adaptor, you won't be dissatisfied! Thanks Mike, I hope this helps!!

Thanks for the kind words 400Trooper! Glad to speak with you again.

Guys I think the 450R carb is one of the best mods your can make without getting into the motor. It has been proven by my friend Tri5Ron to provide useable gains on a bone stock motor and of course GREAT gains on a modified motor. You could say that it will "grow" as the motor does. The '04 and '05 are the ones that I reccommend people use.

I put up a poll weeks ago and 19 people said they wanted one. I paid for 30 to be made, and have only sold 9 so far. Needless to say it is a HUGE bummer and I will not make any more because I have over $1000 invested in making these 30 and I only make about 12 bucks (after shipping) a piece. So there is not a lot of profit in it for me.

I say you sell them on ebay.

But honestly if you do make another batch I think you should make people pay first before you make any.

bump for zr... bought one of these about a year or so ago. Very nice and reasonably priced 450r carb is probably the best mod you can do. I liked the power of my new 416 but was expecting much more the way people talked. After doing the carb swap it was night and day difference in response and power!!! thanks again

Bump for ZRPILOT, He's a great guy, a veteran and helped out a deployed military member with this item. Zr used his money to cover the cost of these adapters being made. He's not doing this for profit, but more as a favor to help the EX community with the 450R carb mod. If you said you wanted one, you should man up and buy it, it's pretty jacked up for people to say they want one and then back out. Spend the money to do it right the first time, trying to fanangle something to work is going to cost you more money and time in the long run.

could these adaptors be modified to use with a 39mm FCR carb off a yfz450? I dont know the diameter of the FCR where the adaptor goes but I can find out. and you said that these need to be "pressed" onto the carb....exactly how tight of a fit is it?
