She has absolutely 0 experience riding other than hanging on the back of one of mine lol. She doesn't want to ride one of mine because "she doesn't need to go fast". Im thinking either a blaster, 300ex or lil raptor maybe a 400ex. What do you guys think???

Id do a 300 or 400ex, stupid simple, reliable and cheap.

Im not sure how tall your girl is but my 5ft 6in buddy finds a blaster to small and unable to keep up at all even when we arent pushing it.

250ex is always a good starter.

if she can us a clutch a 300ex or 400 like said above, cheap and simple, or 250ex. newer one with the sport clutch. thats how my girlfriend learned how to ride.

list her size and weight.

What do you ride? I'm guessing I'd go with 400ex which is so friendly and has decent suspension for lighter riders.

That Raptor 250 would be nice too.

Ohhh good thought too, warriors seem pretty reliable. Another very good option.

250ex w/ sport clutch ....

Remember she has NO experience. Most girls and new riders find the clutch annoying. If you want her to have fun and have the best chance at liking this, then the simpler the better. I would advise against anything with a clutch for the first time. She will likely have enough trouble with shifting at first .....

Just get her a racer with an auto clutch and throttle limiter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Sqmk69ZG2w

You start them out on some tippy ,narrow, poorly braked kids quad like a 300ex,blaster,china quad,250ex then you end up with several problems. 1 they will most likely never get confidence to step up to a better machine and give up. 2 if they do continue to ride they will never be able to keep up on trail rides and maybe push the machine past their limits causing a crash which we dont want. 3 Eventually they will need a better machine so more buying and selling.
Now you get them something wide ,low great suspension, great brakes they will be able to grow into the performance and will have a machine thats more forgiving when they get into a rough situation. My wifes quad has double rate rear shocks and fox floats on the front. No complaining of a sore back after a ride.

There are plenty of videos on youtube with newbs getting hurt on poorly suspended machines when something decent would have been able to handle the bump/corner they hit without throwing the rider.
Thats been our philosophy for years and all the women in my family have yet to get hurt.
We also do a lot of training and ride alongs and as much safety gear as you can afford. My wife really enjoys showing off her color coordinated outfits on rides to so that helps her stay interested.

I'm with witech. 250ex suspension is crap and you are asking for trouble if she tries to do what you are doing. A friend went down that route recently...wife road the 250ex less than a year before going to 400ex.

400ex is the most forgiving clutch model on the market due to the extremely low torque. Heck, put a 13 tooth on the front and she'll never stall. :p

My GF has a 400EX. Awesome quad to start on, but also to grow into. She's to the point where she really needs a 450, but it's not in the cards right now.

I had my girlfriend on my 250r a few times, shes 5'4 115... she loved it, but she also didnt rev it hardly at all. I figure a 400ex is the best bet for your situation (and mine lol)

Z400/KFX is a good option in my opinion. Theyre pretty tough, have a decent suspension, and reverse. The 250ex is a good bike and all, but if she learns to ride very good, she will get tired of it pretty quick. It might be a bit much at first, but if she has a level head, she will do fine.

remember this....KISS = keep it simple stupid.....If she has 0 experience she dont need anything bigger than a 250ex or she will end up hurting herself...I have seen it happen countless times. Yea a 400ex isnt that fast....Put a girl with 0 ride time and small frame and try starting her out riding with people out of her skill level you are just asking for trouble...

Whoever said to skip a small bike b/c she might loose interest....well thats about the dumbest thing i have ever heard. You progress as a rider. I started on a 250ex and grew to love the sport more and more..You throw someone on a fast bike outta the skill level and you end up A. with someone in the hospital/ground B. someone hating it because they can't gain confidence because they are scarred ****less of the bikes power or hate it because of the clutch and such.

Put her on some sort of auto clutch basically only good option is 250ex and let her ride it till she wants to move up. Thats what i did with my g/f and now you can see what she rides in my SIG. Dont be stupid and let someone get hurt b/c some folks think its ok to throw everyone on machines that will kill you if your not able to handle them. Remember basically anyone can ride any machine in a open field...When you put them in the trails outta there comfort zone thats when **** is going to hit the fan, so slower easier to control would be the best option

400 ex. Thats what my buddies wife started on, and shes been riding with us and loves it. shes only been riding a few months and is already jumping :). Its not out of control power and she can make it go as fast as she wants. And if she gets better and wants more power there are a million upgrades on the market for em!

I started out on a 250ex and now I have a 400ex, a 440ex, and a KTM 450xc. HOWEVER, I still have my 250ex 6 years later and still LOVE riding it. Its great for beginners and really fun for skilled riders. Even after this long, I still ride it all the time and and its just fun. Its no high performance race bike but you cant go wrong with it.

Raptor 250 - beats all other quads in it's class on quality, performance and handling. Yes, it's a manual, but it's not rocket science to learn how to shift... :)

I started mine on an old 350 warrior last fall. within 20 minutes she had the controls down enough to move onto easy trails. 5 rides in she was bouncing the limiter on my TRX.

What ever you get her DO NOT let her ride yours. Otherwise you will be buying another one.

What about a Polaris? We used to keep a 250 Trailblazer for a "buddy" quad, so if an extra person or someones wife/girlfriend came along they had something simple and easy to ride along with us.
They're a full sized quad, they're cheap, have an auto tranny and are easy for beginners to ride. They're not gonna win any drag races or rule an MX track, but who cares? Every newbie that rode that bike came back with a smile on their face.
We also had a Polaris 400 Sport (the 2 stroke one)as an extra quad for awhile too. It had a pipe and a little clutch work, and that thing was actually pretty fast & fun to ride in the woods & trails.
Just my $.02
