Whats a good way to take spray paint off a 300ex engine without taking it apart. Or what kind of paint would make it look nice and how should I prep it, especially in between the fins

Aircraft stripper will take the paint off, just be careful and wear gloves-it will take the paint off anything it touches.

You want high heat engine paint, available at auto parts stores.

Aircraft stripper is some nasty stuff. I wouldn't doubt that it would dissolve a gasket if left on long enough.

Personally, I would try getting the paint off with a good pressure washer. Then using mag wheel cleaner to brighten the aluminum. Being an air cooled engine, I can't see paint being a good thing.

I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend, but molycoating an engine looks awesome and it won't come off or hold any heat like paint or powdercoat. It's actually a treatment of the material, instead of a layer like powder or paint.

Pappy can hook you up if you are interested.

Well id like to get by without spending more than 100 dollars. My dads work has industrial strength spraypaint that is ridiculously strong. Its got enamel in it. Im probably tearing it all apart but not the engine. It needs a few odds and endds
