they could but it's not near as likely as the 400ex or 86-87 250R. The 300ex is all inclosed and none of it's exposed except the ends.

I can happen but not that common.

Thanks guys. Ive also heard that the 400ex gets corroded due to a electrical grounding issue. Any one else ever hear that?

400ex corrode because part of it is exposed.
