I figured this was no good when I did this...On the 400ex, where the clutch arm is, there is a needle bearing and seal. I tried taking my seal out cause it was dry rotted (leaking) and i managed to tear up the needle bearing, i do not see a needle bearing in the parts book, online, anywhere, its making me mad cause i planned going to the track this upcoming weekend..

UPDATE!!! I Found out what you can do to get this bearing. If you look on the top edge of the needle bearing that needs replaced, it should have a number on it. for the 400ex, its #HK1210. That is a NTN Bearing. If you look on their website, it states that is a 12x16x10 bearing, the same as a 300ex. So you are able to order the same needle bearing as a 300ex...

sounds like some good info! thanks! you would be surprised how many of these bearings and such are the same. I got steering stem bearings and stuff for my 400, they are the same for the 350r, along with probably the 300 if not the 450r also.

most can be had at a parts place alot cheaper also if you need it quick. I seem to have better luck with the kits that have the seals and all in it already though.

Yeah. One would think they would sell it for the 400ex if they did for a 300ex...Maybe thats a smart way of tricking people into buying a new set of clutch covers....Thanks for the comment!!!
