Anyone using the Motorsport nerf bars on their 250r? Mine is an 87 bone stock and the pickings for new nerf bars appear to be slim. Motorsport makes a set I saw on Rockymountain atv and I figured I might try them. Just looking for any input on how they worked/fit on a 250r before I commit $140 on them.

AC Racing and Burgard Cycle still make them for a 250r. I can't comment on the Motorsport nerfbars.

I just bought some they seem like really good quality the nets are real thick and the tubing seems solid. When my qua gets here I will mount them up and take some pictures.

i bought a set off rockymountain and they lasted 2 laps in a hare scramble race. the screws holding the front clamps together stripped out and left them hanging off the quad and i had to snap it off the peg to continue the race.

after i had them welded solid they lasted 2 races before i noticed they had bent so far back they where about to snap off the peg and it bent my motor mount. i don't remember hitting anything hard but since they hang out a good 1 or 2 inches from the tires its possible i snagged a tree.

they haven't been on since.

my buddy had a set oh his yfz that kept breaking the tube near the mouting point at the peg. Maybe you will have better luck but i think they use cheap tubing on them.

I'd love a set of AC nerfs but they only make them for 88-89 frames. I can't find any decent used ones for an 87 either. The motorsport ones looked pretty decent but I'm not crazy about them sticking out further than the wheels. If anyone has pics of the motorsports on a stock frame I'd love to see what they look like. I tried a search to no avail.

BETTER YET, I HAVE A NICE SET OF GRAYDON PROLINE NERFS THAT WILL BOLT ON TO YOUR STOCK PEGS.
AND A NICE SET OF AC PRO PEGS POWDER COATED BLACK WITH 86/87 MOUNTS.

ON MY 89 FRAME I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY THE NERF BARS WOULD SWIVEL UP AND DOWN SLIGHTLY, SO I CUT THE OEM PEG MOUNTS AND RAN A STRAIGHT TUBE THROUGH THE FRAME. JUST LIKE THE AFTERMARKET FRAMES. NOW MY AC NERFS ARE SOLID!!!

I'd be interested in the Graydons if they are in good shape. Do they stick out farther than the rear wheels(stock axle)? I'm probably going to keep the stock pegs because I'm going to try and put on a new pair of stock heel guards off an '11 Raptor 700. Looks like I need to use the stock pegs for them.

Anyone ever ran steel nerfs? Back in the day, aluminum nerfs didn't cut it for TT racing. I have two sets of steel nerfs, both for 86/87 style pegs. One of my sets is James lucky brand, they taper forward and bolt to the back of the lower A-arm bolt. I would sell these cheap, I don't have any 86/87 frames anymore. This is my second set, these are my favorite nerfs as far as looks go.
