I got my Laeger stem today for my 06 450R and was surprised to see the base of the stem is a female threaded socket that accepts a bolt instead of the traditional male threaded end that takes a nut. anyone else have a laeger stem like this? not too fond of the design... especially since i can't put a cotter pin in it. best i can do is lock tight the bolt and pray it doesnt come loose....

Most companies are doing the bottom of the stems this way now,i know Walsh is for sure.I also would perfer the nut w a cottor pin, just loctite the threads with blue and torque to 25 ft lbs and it will be fine.

You can always wire tie the bolt to the frame or something else too...
