go the machine back together and it lagges off idle. like its loading up. starts first kick too.

atc cylinder

38 lectron carb

boyessen rad valve with new reeds

ESR trx-6 pipe

185 psi compression

all electrical checked out

plug is brown

could this be a clutch issue?

im assuming its when in gear only?? what happens if you try to keep it in the lag position ( if its happening at say 1/8 throttle) just stay in that throttle position, does it clear up or just keep bogging??

it seems to feel like a bog until half throttle maybe less than half.

rob i think it is definitly a carb issue. i think i have the standard lectron. i got such a good price from them i will assume its a standard model.

i think this engine is cursed. i bought it for $375. it ran great, then i had a cylinder skirt crack. brought a brand new cylinder and piston. couldnt get the stock carb tuned correct with hours of tuning and testing. went to the lectron and it ran great and started having gasket failures, one after another. fixed all of that and it still ran like crap. sent the carb back to lectron for their "special" treatment and she is still running like you know what.

im ready to throw in the towel and get one of BDTs motors.

sorry about the long winded diatribe.

definately frustrating. Has any work been done to the cylinder or compression been upped any? are all gaskets good? no leaks! just for the heck of it check your counter balance carrier to make sure the ears are not broke or cracked causing timing issues. sometimes electrical can be confused for fuel issues. you have come along way don't give up yet it is looking good and sure it will run just as well once tuned in. what sounds funny is it ran fine before cylinder and run bad after. should have been close if stock cylinder for stock. is all ground conections free of any paint or powder coat? and is the plug boot in good condition with plenty of threads into the ignition wire? it is something simple hang in there!

interesting point of view. she does seem to vibrate with excess. handlebars do shake. but i also need to consider this chassis is designed for another engine.

you have some good insight.

is your counter ballancer and all associated gears timing marks lined up?

maybe try swapping parts from your other R like carb., ignition coil, cdi, may give some help.

can you do a youtube so we can here this thing run.did you ever try the stator or flywheel, and what was the cause of all these other problems.what caused the cylinder to crack and the blown head gaskets, after that.were the cases damaged when the cylinder cracked
