I dont know much about the ds650 but i've always wanted a big bore in a DS frame. would it fit and what does that motor usually put out for hp??? just a thought

I doubt it would fit as the frame was designed around the motor, and that 650 motor is huge! Its heavier than the 450 motor and probably puts out less hp stock, modded is a different story though. I would just build the hell out of the 450 motor...

yeah the 650 motor is almost 112 lbs by itself, definately not a perfect match for a stock "china doll' ds450 frame..lol the ds650 hp was anywhere between 39 to 44hp at the wheels dependeding on where you looked.;)

The 650 motor is huge. Extremely tall, wide, and heavy. However it will easily make more power than any 450 ever will

I wouldnt say easily, the 450s can get 65 plus hp from them, the 650s are gonna need port work and cams along with the basics to get 60hp from it.Not to mention they are a torque motor, big singles dont like RPM.A modern 450 is built for rpm.;)

A ds650 is completely different than any of the other big singles out there. They make most of their power up top. They have the torque of a big single, but rev like a 450. If you browse any drag forums, there's a reason all the 4 stroke guys run them more than anything else.
To get 65+ out of a 450 takes just about everything you can do to the motor. If you did the same things to a ds, you'd be well over 70.

certainly the ds motor can be built to run but the cost of attaining 80hp one could build a 125hp banshee motor PLUS have a backup.Theres a turbo ds650 running around on you tube makin 85hp.And that kit costs $3500! They still wont be happy at 11grand regardless of valve train and balanced crank, its a physics thing;) I love my ds but at the same time i engjoy it for what it is.A cruiser with nice and cushy suspension.Ill ride my banshee if im climbing cliffs that day:D

I prefer a 75 horse, lightened ds. Speed and power, while being nice and comfy
