Last wek my work car broke down. 2000 Ford Escort SE 2.0.

Car bogged out and died. Everything I checked pointed toward a fuel pump. Replaced the fuel pump and filter and it started right up. Idled for a few minutes and died.

I had a mass air-flow sensor laying around that I bought but never installed so I thought I'd try that. Installed the MAP and again it started up and ran well. Took it around the block a few times, came back and let it idle. Died and wouldn't start. No Spark.

Replaced the coil pack. Ran great. Better than ever. Drove around the block a few times and let it idle for about 25 minutes. Car died out and wouldn't start. No Spark.

I got advice from a few people and the crank position sensor made sense. Replaced that today and same thing. Started, ran, died. Weird thing about it though, was I checked the resistance on the sensor I removed and it wasn't putting anything out. Odd.

Long story short, I know none of these parts I replaced are the problem. I am absolutly lost. Any out there have any ideas? PCM? Ignition Module? Stumped fellas.

Honestly it sounds like its electrical related. If your not getting spark then you get it, then you dont..IDK. IIRC there is a ignition module on these that can go bad and it will produce no spark, might want to try there.

Its seriously time to take it to someone who has a code reader and read in realtime what the cars doing. 10 bucks it either already has a code or they can read whats going on.

Even if it has no codes you still might have something stored.

It doesn't matter if the CEL is on. It can still have codes.

Wouldnt run if that was the case. Would just crank over and over cause it wont recognise key.

Also it doesnt have a chipped key, to old and to cheap a car.
