03 400ex

Hey guys i just picked up a 03 400 and im already dumpin money into it before i even get a chance to ride it..

Im lookin to get an exhaust but not sure.. was gonna do an HMF s/o or T4 with the stock header with drilled out ports on the header and heat wrapped. any suggestions on what to lean with?!?

Any other ideas for if would be sweet. thanks

i like my t-4 alot and feel that it makes some of the best mid and low end of any exhaust. def a great sounding pipe without being too loud at 95 dB. header grind will be good and even opening up the air box if possible would be worth while to do. imo the wrap isnt really worth it.

alright thanks for the reply. and im also wondering what i should do with the plastic.. they were yellow and the kid had spray painted them.. looks like crapp and want to get new ones but not sure if i should go stock with white or red, or race cut fronts..

HMF slip on's sound great and make good power and are quality..id never run any other slip on.. heres my old 400ex with yellow stock race cuts and a black chrome HMF S/O:

Im liking that look, but i really have no other way around this whole plasic deall. gonna have to buy some new stock fronts then and do the same for the rear

thanks for the pic man You could go with Maier plastics.. They have alot of color options to fill anyones needs

yea leaning towards Maier all aroundd.. i wanna go white plastics and do a trans red or blue frame and end up with some +2 standard trvl A arms with 450r shocks.

no they are pretty dark almost an orange but the lite makes it look lighter.

I would do a red frame. I think Honda is meant to be red, deff not blue, blue is yamaha....red frame, accent with black a-arms and keep stock swinger same color....just my honest opinion

yeah idk i dont think any quad should be any specific color...its your machine trick it how you want...the dealers def just picked a couple colors each put them on there machines. I have seen some BA quads in every color that can be thought of.;)

Those new white plastics are lookin really clean hah, im lookin more towards that look to.. full plastics, HMF and wheels and tires with nerfs

The carrier was blown up and gone so i attempted to take it all apart to replace it.

Took 6 hours to do the whole tear down and reassemble

After its all back together and cleaned up it looks 100% better than it did..

And im thinking the kid before me couldnt adjust the chain because of the "nut" on the brack caliper mount was frozen and wouldnt move freely
