just bought a 01 400ex, all stock. idles fine when choke is on. once you turn choke off shuts off?? i have no clue bout these carbs. help anyone???

You should have an idle adjustment. Look into your motor on the choke side and you should see an adjustment screw that comes off the carb. Start there. With a stock quad it most likely is just the adjustment. Turn it in and see what happens.

i put a new plug in and turned up idle. no luck though, do you think the pilot jet is clogged?

At this point, i would pull the bowl off and remove the jets. Blow carb cleaner through them and just completely clean the carb. Make sure your needle is seating properly.

any fuel coming out of the overflow tubes?
will it run if you hit the start with the throttle open?

just take the bowl off and clean all the jets with compressed air and see if it helps.

I cleaned the carb n blew out slow jet n main jet n still no luck? It has somewhat of a valve tap but don't think that has anything to do with it
