timing chain

i am looking to do a rebuild on my 400 and i just did a old 230 motor i was wondering what happens if by any chance the timing chain falls off thelover sprocket can u get to it with out a problem

Gotta fish it out. I usually get a piece of heavy gauge auto wire I have laying about and secure it to the top motor mount while im working.
