Hey guys (and girls:D ) any of u have any tips on how to start up a 250ex in cold weather, i have'nt started it since a couple months, and in the middle of winter it can be a PAIN to start, anyone got some suggestions. I just start it on full throttle then put it on half and try to let it run, but it usually cuts off. Help! Thanx! :)

what oil u run? i use valvoline 10 W40 and it's been freezing or below all winter and in my unheated grage i put full choke and use a littl gas then go down to half choppin the throttle and then no choke. i never had a problem with cold starts. even sittin out in the snow for a few hours.

i have a 250ex and i have no problem starting it up when its below freezing. all i do is pull out the choke all the way. and they keeps the throttle steady and at 1/4 for like 10 seconds and then put the choke in and it will stay on for hours with out cutting out:)

Good gosh, I could never let my 250 sit for a couple of months! I always start mine up at least once a week if I can't get out to ride. Mine fires right up even in all this cold crap!

When i had my 01 250ex, i never had a problem starting it up, and i didnt use any special oil, i didnt even need to choke it, or give it throttle, and i live in Canada where its the fkin coldest place right now.
