if you mean in the terms of quads and dirtbikes then i would find ones that are 1 popular or atleast not total turds on wheels 2 not to spendy to rebuild 3 parts easily available. my .02

there really isnt anything you can do to make money on quads and dirtbikes right now, unless you can pick up a broken one super cheap and fix it yourself.

As everyone else said theres not really much if ANY money in just buying and reselling these days. Best bet is to buy blown up bikes and fix them or buy blown up bikes and part them out. As far as bikes and quads, the newer the better (05+) and pay less than $600 if the motors blown for a 4 stroke. Less then $400 if at all for a blown 2 stroke. Thats about the only way I do it and can usually make around $1000 profit per bike, anything less isnt worth it.

Do you have a welder?

Chances are if something like a 400EX has a cracked frame than it'll sell for cheap/$500-$1000. Weld it up and make sure it's all stable, maybe even gussett it, and sell it for $1500-$2000.

They're still $3000 in Canada. I havn't seen them for less than $2000, and that's a '99.

Sell to Canadians lol.

Ebay has something called pulse (pulse.ebay.com), it'll tell you what the hottest selling items are, and by category.

These^^

i know of at least 2 or 3 people that are looking for cheap transportation right now. Mostly teens looking for a car that they can afford to wreck or have fun with. The theory is old ****ty subcompact = mpg's and fun.

when it comes to spnding 5-1000 on a car or 5-1000 on a quad, they always choose quad...here anyway

Not really to much to be made. I been driving around lately scrapping and its worth it sometimes.

I thought bout buying storage units that go up for auction but its $$$ sometimes and sometimes you dont get a pay off cause you get junk.

I just bought an old beetle for $800, have another $500 in it and its worth at least $2500. But you really have to know what your looking at.

anything and everything. you just need to find a really good deal on it.

i've made money on everything i've owned. down to parts for my bikes. just keep your eye out and be smart about it.

you also have to devote atleast an hour to craigslist every day:D

good deals don't last

I agree with this. However you have to watch it. Sometimes the broken bikes can turn into nightmares and become very costly to fix.

Thats when you sell them for parts :)

Imho money cant be made these days with people being so tight due to the economy, just isnt like it used to be. I literally almost gave stuff away that I was getting pretty good money for when i sold it on ebay last year vs this year.

Money most definitely can be made these days. You just have to know which markets are more profitable then others. Fixing and selling any type of powersport machine can be profitable but to me personally contains to much time and headache. Play into your other interests though and think outside the box. For instance my neighbor picks up lawn mowers that people are throwing out and fixes and sells them. He gets them for free and sells them for 75 - 100 bucks depending on the condition and if it takes more then a hour he throws them out. When the end of winter/ beginning of spring rolls around he throws a add in the local pennysaver and I have seen him sell over 10 mowers in a day. Look into broken cellphones, broken watches, and scrap gold these are all things I have made a decent profit off of.
