XC sprockets

i have a 50% discount on chromoly sprockets and was thinking about using it to drop my rear to a 36. any suggestions? i race xc btw.

Depends on what you're front is. I would say alot of people run 13-38 gearing. Anything other than a 12 front with a 36 rear will be geared too high, in my opinion.

i have stock gear in the front. is that 13? if so should i just leave it stock?

I don't think you would be happy with 13-36 gearing on 20" tires. It would be geared high.
