426ex Face Lift

Well, a couple of months ago I startewd thinking about doing a complete rebuild to my 05 450r. I was planning on buying an 08 swinger, longer axle, and a bunch of other minor things. I decided to pass all of the hand-me down parts to the 400ex from his big brother.

Right now the bike is a 426, Big Gun complete, K&N, Jetted.
Its been on the 426 for 5 years or longer (talk about reliable) and it was my main ride until i got my 450r.
So it has taken quite a bit of abuse. the swinger was finished, as were the axle bearings, and the axle itself, so making the swap made sense.

What I have added so far:

450r Rear End;
Axle
Swinger
Brakes
Hubs
Baja wheels w/ Holeshot HD's from my 450
sprocket (pretty much everything from the swinger back)
450r QT hood
450r front shocks
Tag bumper from my 450r
+2 A-arms

What I want to ad:
stage 2 HC to compliment the 426
Nerfs
anything else?

Remember, this is not an all out rebuild, More of a facelift while I'm gathering parts to rebuild the 450r.

Nerfs would be nice if you're racing and they just make the Four-wheeler look better! I love that hood looks pretty sweet!

Post a pic of how the front end looks with that hood, its kind of hard to tell with that pic, get one a bit further away. It looks good by the way.

i'm working on a 426 project very similar to your setup. it's 450r from the swinger back, with 450r front shocks.

I really want to get the 450r carb with this setup. The cam that i found in the motor is a stage 1 hotcam so i'm gonna roll with that and see how i like it. A stage 2 may be a little better, i'm not sure on that yet.

Yah I was going to snap some pics of it, But I forgot my Camera at my house. (the quads are back at my Cottage)

it rides pretty nice compared to the stock setup, though I only took it for a ride down the road for like 3 minutes. (enough to make me realize how slow it revs haha)

2001400exrida; Yah man i want a 450r Carb on mine too.. maybe it will be an excuse to get a better carb on my 450 and donate the 05 carb I have to the EX. :chinese:

Only picture I have is one of poor quality and taken while my shop was a mess, so there is cardboard everywhere.

I still have to loosen up the preload to drop the front end a bit.. and its pretty dirty :p Ive got a set of wrap around hand guards to that are going to go onto it..
