i have at 300ex that i am looking for the cheapest why to get an extended swingamr. i've heard of 450r, 250r and 350x swing arm swaps but what is the best and cheapest to do.

The 350x doesnt need a linkage tab welded. But it does need spacers on the front so it fits the frame good. The 86 350x has the same carrier as the 300ex, so your current axle and brake setup should work. Not sure if 86 and 85 350x swingarms are different, but the carrier is due to how the brakes and sproket are. You may need longer brakd line and chain, but this is the cheapest and easiest way imo.
