View Full Version : How do i get the axle bearings out!!!

i got the stock bearing carrier and all and i need this donr today.

i tried to do the search and its not helping me.

i just need to know the best way to et them out...
heating, cutting?

get a socket that is about the same circumference as the outside ring of the bearing...and beat it out...if it shatters....take a small dremel....and grind the rind inside the bearing carrier in to places...and then it should come right out

Don't do that, just heat the outside of the carrier up with a torch, and then knock the end you heated up on a block of wood. The heat will loosen the bearing, and the steel sleeve inside the carrier will act like a hammer and tap it out for you if you hit it against a block of wood. Remember to use wood though, not your garage floor. Hope this helps.

ATVer is right, heat from a torch will cause the metal to expand thus loosening the bearing.
