Thanks went together great! I love this quad its so much better than my outlaw. The only thing I had trouble with was the timing and jetting but after a few hours of tinkering I finally got it. I was surprised how well this thing runs it has some power.

Im honestly convinced that the 400ex and 450r are the 2 best handling quads out there and have the right power stock for most things.

I agree with you on that one. i'm working on a set of 450r shocks now I tried some stock 700xx shocks but they were about an inch too long.

Thanks man. And I love the sparks cam its the x1 or whatever its basically a stage 1.5 hotcam its perfect for me because I'm a tight woods rider. It gives a good bit of bottom and middle without sacrificing the top end I like it bud.

I have a Sparks X1 cam I would sell to you! I bought it just wanting to try something different, and it made great low to mid power and with decent topend. The X1 does run very smooth with no noisy tapping noise like the HotCams do.

I just like to rev out my 416ex like a 450, and the stg2 HotCam does make better topend than the X1 does. But for a mild build up the X1 would serve most trail riders better!

Let me know if your interested, I only used it for a few months, and by the way with my buildup and the X1 cam, I smoked a Piped and filtered 750 Brute Force 4x4 up a sand hill climb 4 times in a row with just using dirt tires! He didnt take it well!! :eek2:

I'll make you a heck of a deal!

Backwoods I suggest taking him up on his offer its a really good cam if ur planning on sticking with a stock bore like I am, or atleast until it blows up lol. And it is a very quiet cam I actually had more valve tick with the stock cam which is weird

Cam will move the powerband so you have good low and mid range with some topend throw into it. Not 100% sure how the sparks cam behaves as Ive never ran one but people have described it as between a stage 1 and 2 hot cam.

Possibly, I would think the advanced timing and the cam will help greatly.

To run with a bone stock 450 you will need a higher compression piston, good exhaust, open air box with a good air filter, a good cam, maybe a lite port job on the head, and good tuning skills.

You wont beat all stock 450's but you will weed out the weak ones! And you will still have a very reliable 400EX yet that will run to no end!
