Help With Picture Program

I just recently downloaded a program called "Irfanview." Its kinda like Photoshop where you get to mess around with the pictures ect. My probem is, Everytime I load in a picture it comes out Black and White and I can not get the actual colors in the pictures. Do you know what this may be or how I might be able to correct this problem? Any help is appreciated :) .

Try this:
Open IRFANVIEW
Click Options(drop down menu)
Click Properties
UN-check "Load as grayscale"
