local drag strip allows quads to run. the guy said i could run knobbies as long as it didnt tear up the rubber.

my question to you guys is do you think my knobbies would tear it up? i would run either 18 inch klaw mx or 20 inch knarlys

no people run quads with knobbies at the track here all the time

Be prepared to spin your *** off and ruin a set of tires though..... And also depending on your gearing with the 18's, reving out WAAAAAAAAAAY before the end.... Definately run your 20's........

it would take more power to get the 20's moving whereas the 18's would spin quicker/easier which=messed up track. 20's should be easier on the track.

I seriously doubt you are going to be ripping off knobbies with your setup. I seriously doubt you will spin the tires when shifting from 2nd to 3rd either...whether you go with 18" or 20" tires.

You should be fine with the Knarly's. From my experience, they don't come off in chunks like ITP or Maxxis does. Don't expect any dirt tire to last any length of time running them on pavement, though. You definitely want 20", and may even have to gear it up depending on what kind of bike it is. I ran out of gear WAY before the 1/8 mile finish on my 450. If it's 1/4 mile, I really wouldn't even bother.

That won't be a problem at all.
