Will a sportsman 600 carb work on a 500 sportsman?

I have a 2004 sportsman 500 H.O and I've been having some problems with the carb with the needle and spring messing up and then causes it to die when i give it gas. I have a 600 carb that I can get. So i was wondering if it'll work on my 500? Thanks
