Aftermarket start button

I want to get rid of the stock starter button and use a e start button. Where is the best place to splice the wires? Can you just cut the harness ( the one connected to the starter button) and connect to that? Or can is it better to cut the main harness ( just pass where the two connect) and splice to that? 08 drr

I used a push button for a bike kill switch worked good but don't remember what wires. Make sure it is a always open button (closed when pushed spring open).

I get rid of the stock starter button on all my minis. I just cut the end of the harness on the stock switch itself and wire into that. Avoid cutting the main harness if you dont have too. A yamaha or suzuki dirtbike kill switch is what i use and it works great.

Got to it this week. The magic colors are blue with white line and the black wire.
