I'm looking for an hi-lift cam to put in my EX. I'm doing mostly trail riding(technical but pretty fast), sand pits and sometimes bring it to local tracks. I do some search in old threads, found some good comments on MAGNUM cam, but I want to know what can be the best for this setup:

416 12.5:1 CP piston
Lightened flywheel (13oz off)
FCR 40mm (450r)
p&p with race-cuts on valves
Running UNI filter with a full pipe

Someone know what's the MAGNUM web site?

Thx for your help!

Stage 2 Hotcam would be perfect for your setup. Stage 3 Hotcam if you want a bigger hit in the top end. Both are drop in cams. The stage 3 is about as high lift as they come for drop in cams.

Here's some specs if you want to compare. I have never been able to find any specs for Magnum cams so I couldn't tell you anything about them.

cam: Intake lift; Exhaust lift; Intake duration; Exhaust duration

Thanks!! I'll probably go with the stage 3, durations seems to be little bit longer... probably better for helping keep the engine cooler...?

TRX 400EX (1999-2007) TRX 400EX Stage 3: single-cam motor. More top-end power. Designed specifically for Hot Rods big bore stroker kit. Uses stock valve springs and rockers. *Does not use auto-decompression mechanism. Stock starter sufficient.

But, maybe stoke springs can wear out faster with that kind of lift!! Anyway I got a set of kibblewhites in a box...

The only things I'll be worry about is to make that thing spinning with the stage 3, the lighten flywheel and no decomp on a 12.5:1... even with the stage 2?? Can I have problems?

off topic..... would you happen to know what the lobe separation is for these cams?

Just the intake/exhaust centerlines for the Hotcams. No lobe separation info for them or any others listed, sorry. I copied that a while ago from GPracer2500's post here.
