What size ball joints to make 88 a arms adj?

Would cut the stock ones off and put in some adjustable ball joints.Anyone else try this?

I'm working on doing this right now, cutting all the balljoints off and having some bushings made with an outer lip that will be pressed and welded into the arms. If you know someone that can lathe/machine you some bushings, it would be an easy inexpensive job. They'll need to be tapped with a M16x1.5 thread to fit the VW style tie rod ends.

i've done this mod to my OEM a-arms and have had really goed luck with it but i elected not to have the colars threaded.
