What size socket fits on the rear hub nut (the one with the Cotter pin in it) for a 400ex? TIA

Some metric & american wrench and socket sizes are interchangable- 9/16 & 14mm are almost exact. 1-1/16 american is a perfect fit on the 400's rear axle nuts. i'm kind of picky about tools, if it doesn't fit right i'll go get the right size. but why go buy new if you have something that fits correctly in the shop already?

you're off one size sgaexer. It's 1/2 and 13mm that will interchange, not 14mm and 9/16. Don't know about the axle nut...

19mm and 3/4 are the same also. ;)

Read your post, double checked the sizes in the shop. 13mm fits a little loose on a 1/2 bolt head. and yes, 14mm & 9/16 are almost exact.

any of you want to get me a 1/2 inch drive metric socket set for christmas? 14 thru 27 mm please :D J/K

It looks like it is a 27mm, which is also a 1 1/16" socket. 1.0625in. x 25.4mm/in. = 26.99 mm.

So now I just have to make sure I can round up either a 1 1/16" or 27mm socket. Thanks to all for your inputs.
