Hi! Just got a CP 12.5:1 87mm piston for my 400ex... it have a sheet with the honing roughness step-thru... but i didn't see anything about the wall-to-piston clearance...
My rebuilt is on neutral, if someone know what's the spec on that clearance for that kind of piston??? .003?? .004?

finally got my answer from cp-carillo... I'm a bit surprise
clearance : 0.0025
Heavy Duty Head Stud: Not required
Octane: 93 or greater

is this the same are piston ring gap?

Nope!! this is the piston to cylinder clearance
the ring gap is calculated by :
top ring
bore size X 0.0045
2nd ring is .004 more than top
oil ring is .015 minimum
