How many ft lbs does it need to be tightened too?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just tighten it good and snug.

I didn't really torque anything on my motor when I rebuilt it, and it's holding up just fine. :)

Just don't go too crazy. Doesn't have to be incredibly tight.

I read it's possible to modify the stock one for ±4 deg advance. How do I go about this

Basically just taking a dremel and elongating the holes. You have to be careful though not to go too far. You should look up how much to cut it. I don't recall off hand.

My father recently picked up an aftermarket stator plate. I'm going to be taking the dimensions off the holes and modifying my stock one.

If you happen to come across how much needs cut for +4 deg. let me know.
