Do 300ex's and 400ex's have the same size of stock tires

no ...if you mean tire size 300 tires are 22 400ex tires are 20's..:)

so the rims are different sizes

no, the rims are exactly the same, the front tires on the 300ex are 22 inch tires, and the back on the 300ex are 22 inch. On the 400 the fronts are 22 and the backs are 20. hope that helps:p
