Does anybody know if a trx450 motor will fit on a trx250r i am going to swap the engines and ... is this worth it its a 87 with +3 chrome a-arms and chrome roll design swing arm and chrome extended axle with custom axis shocks and beadlocks all around with holeshots and bars , steering stem and stabilzer powdercoated frame with new plastics completley race ready with no rides like a hour and it has the original title for 3200

Are you paying 3200 for a roller or does it come with a running 250r engine. If the 2-stroker runs you might want to try it first, You just might like it better..... If you want a 4-stroke from what I've seen in the classifieds $3200 will get you a nice 450

It has a motor he said he has like 2000 into the motor so far its a 270 and he rode it for a little while and it just sits .. it probably one of the cleanest quads ive seen and i have a 450r to that i just bought and i crashed it took it apart and done nothing with it so i was thinking about puting the 450 motor on the 250r

plz dont tear the 250r aparts =[ maybe im just a little too much in love with the old machine =] But im sure you would have to do some custom fabin to get that thumper in that frame.

But you need to think further down the road! You can buy 4 pistons and rings and top end kits for the 250r for the cost of 1 topend and valve job on the 450r...
Or you could sell your 450r engine on ebay and have a grand to put into the R!
I can assure you this you will be money a head in less then a year keepin it a 2 stroke
Another avenue of thinking.
God Bless,

My general method of thinking is that the best chassis for a 450r engine is a 450r chassis. If you're looking for a 4-stroke, I think you're much better off going with the chassis that's originally designed for that engine.
