What are the pros and cons of having 3/2 offset front wheels vs. 4/1 offset. I obviously know it makes it wider or narrower, but is it rider preferance that would make 4/1 handle better or does it really handle better? any other input is appreciated.

i stuck with the 4-1.. turns a little better for me
+2+1 a arms on it.

I interested in know how muck the 3+2 rims will extend the front end?
Is there any 5/2+5/2 rims?

3+2 is usually a standard OEM offset.

Wheels do not come in that offset (5+2) for MX bikes because it refers to the wheel width of 5 inches. So the two numbers added together should equal 5. That offset would be a 7 inch wide wheel.

so if I put 3+2 hipers on my 450R in will not extend the front ende?
nothing?

I was refering to 2.5+2.5 (5/2)+(5/2) and not 5+2.

They make a 2+3 wheel, but you probably won't like the handling characteristics. They cause alot of feedback through the bars. 4+1 wheels are the best handling wheel.

Thank you for telling me that.

What rear rims off set should I get to extend the back 1'' per side or 2'' per side?

so from what i understand there is more feedback to the handlebars withs the 3/2 than the 4/1? so it wears you out more with the 3/2? So is the 4/1 recommended for mx and grand prix style races, or just mx? or just gp?

Any kind of racing or riding, really. Compare it to swinging a hammer. When hold the hammer toward the head, you can't hit a nail as hard as when you are holding it near the end of the handle, because of the added leverage. With 3+2 wheels, the centerline and outer edge of the wheel is farther away from the spindle. This gives the rock, tree, root, or rut more leverage to jerk the bars out of your hand. With the 4+1, it's closer to the spindle.

Well, now that I think about it, that analogy isn't very good. But, you get the point...
