i got a 2004 450r with a blown crank,,,it has an HRC kit....new axle and carrier bearings.....new chain..UNI..Protaper handle bars...DG nerf bars...AC racing front bumper...powder coated frame...needs new rims and tires and shocks revalved. what do yall think i should do??? sell it for $1100 (thats the offfer i got) or keep it and fix it.?? i would just get another 2004 or 2005 450r off craigslist if i sold it.. please help!

If you are going to get another one off craigslist you might aswell fix it and keep it... Nothing saying the one you get off craigslit isn't going to blow up next week.

yea but their are some pretty nice 2005 and 2004 450rs with the factory tires still on them. in good condition. like new.. ill post some good deals that i found. http://austin.craigslist.org/mcy/2124336175.html...............http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/2116961310.html...........http://houston.craigslist.org/rvs/2168089420.html... i could maby get them for like 2500 to 3000. but ur right, it could blow right when i get it,....... i think my bike would cost like 2500 - 3000 to get it in running condition again.

I think you messed up your reply and started another thread so I quoted it and stuck it back in here...


How is your crank going to cost you $2500-$3000? A crank is a couple hundred bucks and Labor should be about the same. That's if you don't do the work yourself and save on labor costs.

i got a quote on updating my 05 to a stroker crank, big bore cylinder and cam parts and labor for 1,200.00 at a local atv shop that has a good rep. if there is nothing else wrong with the quad and you get it fixed then you know what you have.

keep it and update the crank, it will only cost 800 or 900 and you will know that its updated and in good working condition

WEll its had metal shavings in the oil and I ran it with them in their. So I probaly need alot mor stuff. Sucks

id still do a rebuild you will have a brand new motor and prob will be the same price as the difference btween what you get for your bike and the cost of a new one
