View Full Version : Does the pivot bolt half to go directly through the engine cases

I would like to hear your guys opinions on this issue...
I was wondering if I built brackets that bolted the engine to a frame but did not use the factory pivot bolt hole where it went through the engine?

it all depends on where your sprocket will be positioned.

if the sproket is lined up correct then no, my hybrid is done this way. its not together right now so i dont have pics

That is what I was hoping for! as long as the sprockets line up and all the mount holes are to the frame we should be good.

Just make sur that the front sproket is level with or a little higher than the pivot bolt. otherwise you will get negative chain torque.

the reasonwhy they do that on the 4-strokes is for strength. Going through the engine adds strength to the frame. less cracks
