KTM450XC.... in my opinion.... The LTR is a MX bread quad. The KFX is also, the TRX and the YFZ are mostly what i see at the GNCC races.

How's the kfx a mx quad from factory. It's more trail than mx from the factory.

I am basing my statement from experience.. The KFX was nice on the trails, but a YFZ will walk on it in the trails. The KFX is sick on the MX track... right alongside the LTR.

Well, if you are talking about the YFZ's that are still carbed, i would go with the honda. But if you are getting anew YFZ, fuel injection is where its at.... not sure why honda is still stuck with the carb.

Honda... You can get a pipe and some of those flappy wheels with the money you save.....

ya no doubt the yfz xc would but the kfx is more of a trail quad than mx from factory my stock kfx did not belong on the track with it as narrow as it was

from my experience the ltr is pretty powerful, but i like the light weight of my kfx, and it seems more torquey than my ltr(probably because it is lower geared). which makes it awsome for climbing dunes.

at the dunes I pick my kfx over the ltr, and the track but im a smaller guy so it would make since.

i cant speak for the honda or yfz haven't really spent much time on them.

but from what iv heard they are all neck in neck its really what your more comfortable on.

I know you quad guys won't want to belive it but, it handles better then a TRX...especially in the dunes. And those are not my words, those are from trx owners who have ridden it. Truth is a trike will kill a quad in the dunes

There is no such thing as, "best". It's all a matter of opinion. Like stated previously, pick your favorite color. Go test ride each and which ever one is most comfortable, that's the choice for you.

My personal opinion, 06-09 YFZ non-r or x models.

I don't see why people pick the 525 over the 450 myself. I've witnessed stock KTM 450's walk the 525's up sand mountain.

Can-am DS450. You can find leftover 08s still for dirt cheap. Get all the recalls and updates done before you pick it up and with a few small mods (slip on pipe, cutting pink wire for new fuel map intake ring) it will be pretty darn fast! I have heard of 08s going for less than 4,000 brand new!
