hipers in freezing temps?

just a quick question, can you run hipers in freezing tems or should i throw on my stock wheels for cold snow and ice riding? the reason i ask is, i know the wheels split into halfs and the rings have a small gap in them. i wasnt sure what would happen if water would get in there and freeze, if anything.

I think they will be fine. I've rode in 20 degree, snowy weather with no issues.
