Im hoping this is broad enough to not ruffle any mods feathers and maybe it will stay in the open forum so i can get a few replies lol. Ive always wondered if the laser point temperature guns are a reliable way to keep an eye on the motor temperature on quads. Any input?

Yes they are def reliable and if you get a good one very acurate! We use them at work although it is on cars haha but ya would be a very good way to monitor the engine temp on a quad.:)

yea they are very accurate if you spend your money wisely and get a good one. i use it to tune my rc nitro's and monitor the quads and dirtbikes. you can also buy the thermo strips from factory effex, not really accurate but they ballpark it

I used one from harbor freight, worked quite well. Used to use it alot at the shop on cars.

I always used one. I also like the CV4 temp strips.

My dad has one of the laser ones and he spent some good money on it. It works great! It's been a while since I used it, I forgot what the temp on the rad hose was, but I remember the Header was in the high 400° range.
