I'd like to replace the tires on my '08 400. I ride trails and woods, never race or anything like that. I'd rather not spend nearly $100 per tire. Are there any more affordable alternative tires (knock-offs) that i should consider? I'd like a four or six ply... Any suggestions?

I have never personally ran them but rode some buddies quads that have them.

There not bad for the price but i personally like the RZR s better, but i usually run holeshots or Quadcross's.

But again for the money there not bad.

GBC x-rex, at least the fronts are on sale right now for 65/ea, normally like 75/ea. They are near exact copies of maxxis razr IIs and they are made by cheng shin (which also makes the tires for maxxis).

. I have the razr II fronts till the rears wear out but then Im gonna do razr 1 rears, they are the single best overall tire to run and alot of others agree.

In tires you get what you pay for usually. Read the reviews on rocky mtn and motosport and see what you need based on the type of riding you do.

My mistake, the 21's are on sale for 65. They do offer free shipping I think tho. You save maybe 20 bucks over rocky mtn and maxxis razr 2's buying the x-rex.

GBC is weird, I had been planning on buying them for awhile, checked what price they were the one day and it went up 12 bucks from 65 to 78 and they didnt do free shipping. I said eff it and bought them off rocky mtn for 86+ free ship.

I very much doubt it, you gotta remember the razr 2's have very large tread knobs to begin with.

ROCKY MT. ATV.....get Maxxis...I have the Maxxis razr an razr2, the razr's will last almost forever, great traction an all round the best tire...10 yrs experience with this tire. The Razr 2 are great...BUT...they are very, very heavy...rob horsespower, harder so slide around fast corners, they do have great mud traction...I have had them for about 4 yrs....for the money an what I do, I'll go with the 4 ply. Razr's 20".....I also have them for the front...

Myself... for the money I think a plain old Razr 4 ply on all 4 corners is hard to beat.

But then I haven't tried the Razr2's yet.

Sometimes people do find the GBC X-Rex for cheap and I would try them for that.

The next one I think I want to try is the Kenda Kutter XC. They look good and tough and are cheaper than other 6 ply tires.

The bargain today though is the Artrax tire on Motosport. Everyone I have talked to with them likes them and the price is hard to beat. I'm going to buy a set myself as soon as I can.
