What a retard.

I could see it going for half that price if it truly was in absolute, 100%, pristine mint condition, untouched. I could see it going for the full $30k if it was still in a crate.

The fact that it has UFO plastics, Pro Circuit pipe, new (aftermarket) rims and tires, and the motor is on it's 1st overbore means it is NOT original, therefore almost useless as a collectors item.

Original is valuable, because it's rare. "Restoration" isn't worth crap.

I can totally understand the crate ATC going for $44k. That is a truly rare collector's piece there. What is there, like 2 left in the world still in crates?

This stupid CR500, any idiot with a weekend and $5k can have one. It's not like it's original mint. It's f-ing used, bored out, and restored with non-OEM parts.

Stupid.

I just dont see the value in a collectors item like that.

Then again someone with some cash might, like its been said the atc sold for a ton of money.

service honda probably got an unmolested 500 in their stables that could be had for probably 1/3 of what he was asked. plus, i think service honda still has brand new cr500 engines for sale.

Can't you buy an CR500AF for like 10k? or something? That is by far the best bike IMO.

Scha-wing!! => http://www.servicehonda.com/honda-2010-models/500af

This ebay bike was getting blasted over on the 450 dot org too, pretty funny.

i thought it had a 50,00.00 reserve that was not met on the atc. would say it still belongs to the rightful owner.

I wonder if what that guy is smoking it must be really good!!!

It looks great but even so I not sure that even sombody looking for a museum piece would even pay that type of money. It's always cool to see good looking restorations but IMO they are dirt bikes and ATVs and ATCs use them for what they are for ride them and take the memorys with you to the bank. You can't put a price tag on those I mean how many of us have restored a 250R to look like a show quad and then just rode or raced the hell out of it....

I believe it is more of a look what i built and or have not so much as they want to sell, but at the same time in their mind it is really what it is worth.
