Hi i have a 2006 400ex with a lexx pipe, uni air filter, dyno jet 160 and 38, and an open air box. I wanna do a 11:1 wiesco std. bore pistion and a custom web cam from Rossier Enginering i was just wondering will i have trouble running 91 pump gas??? and will i notice a big power gain to justify the cost??? i ice race and i need some more power to keep up with the 450s and i DONT wanna sacrifce reliabilaty cause in like 2 years im building a 450 but still want the 400 for trail riding sorry this is so long but THANK YOU

U should be able to get by on 91....any 93 pumps around?? Would be better...Imo I would go ahead and get a .40 .20 over piston....
Like my daddy always said there no excuse for cubic$$$$ lol

I would also do a 416 or a 426 with hi compression piston. As long as you build it right and do your maintence you will not sacrifice reliability. You will also want to look into adding an fcr carb.

Sorry to get in ure thread but i'm in the same process, so...does a 416 (87mm) 12.5:1 can be run on 94 (highest we got up there in Canada at the pump). And does it really need HD Studs?

U def want hd studs for strength an peice of mind for security of the motor stayin together 94 is cuttin close with 12:5....mite work....

Did anyone ever find out if 11:1 is relilable on 93. I'm in the same boat. Building a 10:1 or 11:1 416 but want it as relilable as it can get!! I dont want it build it and then have it spark nock on me and have to run race gas through it

11:1 will be fine on 93, as long as the timing is not advanced. BUT, 11:1 with advanced timing or 12:1 compression will require 100+ octane...

You may as well go, 416 11:1

It will pull alot harder. You will 4sure notice a difference in power.

dont forget u need hard surfaced rockers with a webcam, the stock ones wont last long with a webcam
