i think it would look good, it would look even better with a black endcap imo. have you heard one on a ltr?

i agree about the hmf being better than the yosh, i had a hmf on my z400 and i really liked it, i rode a ltr with a full yosh exhaust and i didnt like it, i am still trying to decide which exhaust i want for my ltr, dasa, sparks, hmf, or alba, maybe even motoworks not sure yet.

sparks pipe... cant go wrong with sparks. they say u cant use a spark arestor but i used hmf spark arestor and actually used a hmf quiet core off a 400ex and they worked just fine. so yes u can make it usfs approved. and you can make it a little quieter. but u have to buy hmf inserts for a 400ex. lol

if i were to buy a new pipe id make sure it unbolted to repack instead of rivets

why is that such a big deal with people? i have repacked mine and its nothing to re rivet them what 6-8 rivets... i dont get the big deal with rivets. and if you dont have a gun to replace them buy one its only 35 bucks for a rivet gun... i know this is the time of hiring **** to be done instead of doing it yourself but for as often as you repack one and as cheap as rivets are why worry about it? it cost me about 25 bucks to do a repack 20 is for packing....

hey kickinwing i have not heard an HMF on the ltr not in person anyway. i had one on my z400 and really liked it it sounded really good. i think the comp would look pretty sick on an ltr .

No, that vid doesn't do the sound justice! I have an HMF slip-on, on my LTR. They are LOUD! But I like it, think it sounds sick. What I liked even more, engine revs a little quicker and the pipe gives you a little more on the bottom end- where it's needed on the LTR. Get the quiet core insert for riding in sound restricted places.

i hate the rivet ones cause they are a pain in the arse i do my own it aint that hard but why take everything off when u dont have to, alot of the bolted ones un bolt on the end so its not neceaary to even remove pipe to repack i didnt say it was hard or that bad just a pain in the arse sometimes the rivets catch the bit and just spin or if they aint supper tight the will wear the holes in the canister out

I have a yellow Hmf sport series I think it is, nothing special. Has blue endcap and it looks great on my yellow Ltr except for when the packing burns out, turns the can brown. My Ltr is set up for xc and the Hmf is a great low end to mid range pipe. Might not be as much top end as sparks or dasa but is deff quieter. My core fell apart on mine after 2 seasons of hard woods riding, will deff be replacing it with an Hmf comp series. You won't be dissapointed unless u want top end. Thanks. Andy

I forgot to add that I have the full system with Uni filter with a cherry bomb. Bike runs great with no power commander but wouldn't hurt to be safe. Thanks. Andy

if it were me i would prob get the sport series all black. im not sure what the power differences would be but i bet they are close to the same.

01-30-2011, 07:26 AM
without a dyno you wont notice. i have used both and not impressed with either. :o

but the hmf comp in black chrome looks tits. makes good sound and its still a quality pipe its just not the most quality pipe ive seen... good power too for how cheap they are. some of the more expensive units dont make near as good of power.

do you guys think that the black sports series would look better on my yellow ltr then the comp would

i c do you not use photobucket? to me it is easier, all you have to do is upload it and copy the image code and paste it into the message. i used to resize every pic i had with irfanview but now i just use photobucket.
