View Full Version : how to access reeds on 86 LT250r

not sure how to access the reeds in order to change them( or where they are for that matter

Pull off the carb, it is mounted to the case reed cage on your LT. After removing the carb, pull out the reed cage and now you can get to the reeds. Before doing that, and not being wise here... Go on ebay and buy a manual for 85-86 LT250R. You will find instructions, pics and important torque specs and other info for servicing your quad. :cool:

I guess I need to get one of the manuals also. I always pulled the cyl off.

I guess I need to get one of the manuals also. I always pulled the cyl off. well , as u allready know u wouldnt have gotten the reeds out without pulling the cylinder,seeing as the 85/86s were case reed induction. 88 and up are the ones u can get to without pulling the cylinder

My bad! lol... I said case reed, but then thought about my 92 and told him to pull the carb! Oh well, at least my advice to buy a manual was good! :p
