Maxxis RZR 4 ply rears and 6 ply fronts is what I've been using for desert riding. Great price and does not weight too much. And these seem to wear and last relatively well.

My favorite rears are the Holeshot XCR-03 (20") they are rounded on the edge more than some of the other tires, which lets you slide well, but still hook up good.I ride alot of woods, but have found that these tires even work good on the MX track.

I am trying out some X-Rex front and rear tires this year. They came on a set of hypers I purchased. I haven't had a chance to run them yet, but they are 6 ply all around and look very similar to my Razr 2's. They are about 30% cheaper than Razr 2's and I have been told they are made from the same tire manufacture that makes the Maxxis tires. We'll see how they do.
