We run ours at 95. Ride it a few minites and retorque. You should check it before every moto.

my $.02 is on smaller bikes (50s, and mid range 70s) you torque at 95, for more powerful bikes, torque at 105. I say that because I blew a tranny on a mid grade 70 I had it tightened to a torque of 105 - it never slipped.

we torque ours to 98 on our 90 with a 70lb rider.
I think weight of rider has a lot to do with it too.
Lighter = less, heavier = more, as it will slip easier
with a heavier kid. Makes sense to me.
Re-check every moto definitely.
Very happy with ours.

Remember most torque wrenches have a + - 5% range . We use snapon and proto at work and have them checked after each use to make sure they are right. I have watched them check with the machine and they all are off a few lbs. We torque from 5inch lbs to 4000 foot lbs.

yup - they definitely vary a little.
That's why we set ours at 98 so that we are probably
between 95-100 if it is off a little. We just watch to see
if it has moved each time. If it moves slightly then good -
it's supposed to in order to save the tranny. If it NEVER moves
then you may be torqued a little too much and it is not
doing much good. Just my 2cents of course.
I think Rocky and I talked about this one time and it
seemed to be the consensus of everyone.
Just watch it - that's the key!
