My balancer is off by one tooth..it does vibrate a lil..but it also has a spacer plate and its and 86...I put it back the way it was(off 1 tooth)...would that be off one tooth because of the spacer plate? Or was it just human error from the guy b4 me?

human error. Put it back the correct way. that will create the least ammount of vibration.

Even if it has a long rod kit? Or a late model piston? I was goin to put it back to normal too.... But a friend of mine said it was like that for a reason.....so there would be no possiable reason to have it a 1 tooth off?? Thanks I really appricate the info...its priceless..

The counter balance is there to create a moving mass that's directly opposite the moving mass of the piston.

Spacer plate or not, long rod or not, the piston is still traveling up at the exact same time as before, and down the exact same time as before. It only stands to reason that the counterbalance should be in the same exact place as before to offset that movement.
