Can I run the sparks 6* timing key on a 426 11:1 with stage 2 cams and p&p build. If so what gains if not why? I know on my kfx 700 you can and you gain low end torque and throttle response. New to honda.
No not with an 11:1 piston unless you want to run 100+ octane gas as it will generate to much heat.

Couldn't you run a 3 degree sparks key with a 11:1 piston without running higher than 93 octane?

Nope, still gotta run 100 octane as wheelie says (he makes them). See about the 5th post down: http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=414990&highlight=degree
Im sorry Im also mistaken: If you have anything over stock compression you shouldnt use the 11:1 key even with 100 octane as it will still generate to much heat; or so says wheelie (I trust him on this). http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=414990&perpage=10&highlight=degree&pagenumber=2

There isnt one that will allow you to use 93 octane. Wheelie custom makes the 3 degree keys out of standard honda keys, anything less than 3 degrees doesnt gain you anything. A hotcam is a much better choice, it doesnt advance the timing so much as move the curve of power to where it really needs to be.

Yeah I'm probably getting a stage 1 hot cam because I don't need a stage 2 cause I'm not boring it.
