I think my thermostat went bad so i took it out and was wondering if it would be okay to do the race this weekend without the thermostat in it.

I took mine out when I raced my 450r, it was a 500 big bore. Will not hurt it, I had no problems. It will take a little longer to warm up though.

definitely safe to run without a thermostat.

Don't hard wire your fan though so it stays on all the time...cooler isn't always better.

i wired my fan up to a switch, so i can turn the fan on and off as i please. although by doing this, the red light turns on when i flip the switch, so there isnt really any realy way of knowing when your running hot.
you'll just have to go by feeling and judge how hard your actually running it.

with the thermostat out and the fan wired on full time the engine will still get to temp just fine. ran mine for 4 seasons like this

It won't cause any damage...it just results in less hp at times.
