My nephew is ready to move up from his trx90. What do you guys recommend for an 11 year old who needs a little more umph?

Without knowing his riding ability, I'd say 250ex for most 11 year olds. If he's tall enough and you feel confident in his riding ability, then I would go for the 300ex.

if he has enough control/skill i would just go to a 300ex. i went to a 250ex when i was young and after a month i was bored and wanted something that i could actually mod.

It depends on his riding ability. My dad's friend's son started to ride his banshee when he was 10 but he had a lot of experience already.

I think the yamaha 250 raptor would be a good option for an 11yr old.

Id stay Honda lol
But it he can handle the clutch just fine and is tall enough i would just say a 300ex.
But like already stated it depends on his riding experience already.

I'd stay with the Honda also if I wanted a heavy, outdated, and overpriced quad. Other wise I would look at the Yamaha. Check out the Dirtwheels comparison. http://www.dirtwheelsmag.com/ME2/dirmod.asp?sid=&nm=Features&type=news&mod=News&mid=9A02E3B96F2A415ABC72CB5F516B4C10&tier=3&nid=019B2D0F43FD4AC59C48BF6163D3A5CD

Get a blaster. Good starter quads. Cheap to modify too.

Raptor 250 for sure! 250x is junk,300ex not as good suspention as raptor 250 and blaster just plain sucks! had one and it just felt weak/fell apart. Go size him up on quads and see which one fits best ,but raptor 250 is my fav of size quads for him. unless hes 6ft/180pds !

it depends on the kid and how he is built zand how mature he is. but a 400ex is a good quad i got mine at 11 but i had just came off a sportsman 500.

I dont think most 11yr olds should be on 400-500cc quad that too much unless he,s like huge. 200-300 cc,s the most for that age . The way I see it if they cant pick up/drag frontend of quad and spin it around by them selfs they dont have any bussiness riding it !

400ex if it has a throttle limiter and he's a good rider, if not a 300ex.

when I was 9 I rode a warrior we sold that and i rode a 400ex at 10
at 12 i bought my 450r
14 now and have a national 450r

i'm 5' 10" and 135 pounds
it reallly depends on riding ability and physical strength i mean he can be 6 foot but have tooth pick legs and arms
:p

haha when i was 3 i got my first quad.it was a polaris 50,i loved that thing,at 8 i got a chinese 110,broke the hell oitta it.then i got a bayou 300,which surprisingly was really fun!haha.then at 9 i got a 250ex,which i got incredibly bored with really fast.then at 12 i got my raptor 250,which i LOVED,it jumped great, handled great, and was fastt!my only complaint was not enough ground clearence in the trails but it was okay,i always had my friend who has a 250ex with me,or my dad who has a grizzly and at the time had a rhino.but then we sold that and got my 400ex in mid summer.my only complaint is that its a bit heavy and bulky.but i love it.i got it when i was 12 and now im 13!
