250r throttle cable caps

I have a carb and throttle assembly that i believe is a 250r. I got a 89 cable whos length and ends are the same as the existing cable but the cap that came with it is smaller and will not fit my carb. Any ideas or thoughts. Thanks.

guessing you have a larger carb. like 38ish or bigger. you should be able to use the old cap, the cable just snaps in and out.
